It's looking good for me. I need to check with work to see what is going on that week.

Nice!! Was thinking of maybe driving out Wednesday evening- staying in a hotel that night. Checking in Thursday morning at the Safari and maybe doing the exploration trek we discussed Thursday and Friday (camping out there Thursday night). Could then try to make it back for the raffle and dinner Friday evening. Then maybe do a group run on Saturday depending on who is doing what?

Let me know if that sounds about like what you were thinking. Phil- you in or have any input? Toolman- you gotta use up your PTO- you in?

Anyone else planning to go that is looking for a plan?

I would like to see some new things like news paper rock and arches.

Besides that we are open to almost anything.

So Landshark and I have started to figure out a bit of our plan. We are tentatively planning on heading out Thursday late morning/early afternoon. Plan is to get into Moab early evening on Thursday and try to find a camp spot in 1 of 2 spots we know just outside of Moab that doesn't require reservations. The plan is to head out early Friday morning out to Canyonlands and first stop at The Needles Visitor Center before we start exploring the area. We have a reservation for a backcountry camping spot for Friday night so our plan is to stay out there and then hit more trails in the area on Saturday. A number of the trails require at least day use permits (required on Elephant Hill, Salt Creek / Horse Canyon, and Lavender Canyon roads). A lot of what we decide to run will depend on our conversation Friday morning at the visitor center so we can determine how long it will take to run some of the places we are interested in. Saturday night, we are staying in town and have reserved hotel rooms-- you will most likely find us at the Moab Brewery freshly showered!

So-- if you are interested in caravanning out there or meeting up once out there, let us know. I don't think we will be registering for the Bronco Safari as we won't be running any of the event sponsored trails and won't be able to attend the raffle and dinner Friday night. I think Landshark and I both plan on trying to maybe stop by the event campground Thursday if we can get into town early enough (we both would like to buy magnets if they are available).

If someone will pick up my 2 hats and 1 shirt from Steve, I would appreciate it. He's expecting someone to pick it up since I can't make it. I can pick it up from you at a breakfast or something. Thanks -- Scott

I didn't register for Bronco Safari but I will be heading to Moab on the 5th and be staying for around a week, got a space at Canyonlands RV Resort. Hopefully I will see some CCB folks there as I am heading out with some non-Bronco friends. Since I am getting there on the evening of the 5th should I register? I haven't been before but it seems like I would be missing a lot from the 2nd - 5th. Looking for some feedback from others that have gone before!

I would not register if I was you. If you are getting there the evening of the 5th, you will most likely miss the driver raffle and dinner. The registration pays for you to run the trails with the group and if you plan to potentially run trails with the Bronco group on Saturday, I would just talk to Steve St. Clair and ask if you can join for just the one day of trail runs. It sounds like you may be doing your own thing on Saturday anyways...

You can stop by the campground that they have the event stationed from on Friday when you get in or on Saturday at some point if you wanted to try to buy a t-shirt or something but I think for what you are planning to do-- paying the registration would be a waste of your money...my .02.

That was my thought also but I should be there in time for the Friday evening events and Saturday.

If your not going to run any of the trails with them then probably not worth it.

Yep, got it figured out, going to be there in time for Friday's events and run the trails Saturday. The folks I am heading out with for the week don't have any plans for Friday/Saturday.

I will be there Friday and Saturday, probably going to check into the campgrounds and then hit the Show and Shine. The way its looking I am going to be cutting it close. I am taking my final exams on the 4th, packing up, and heading out on the morning of the 5th. As of right now the Bronco hasn't even been fired up and the wiring harness is in progress. Looks like Saturday trails may end up being my shakedown run.

Thanks for posting some pics, I was in Moab Monday night on our way to Havasupai and boy was there a lot of broncos in town. I had to keep it on the down low since this trip was for the wife, although she did like the idea of coming back to ride the trails and see the sites. I was able to snap this picture while eating at the Moab dinner. 31 DAYS AND COUNTING until I get my Bronco
