Chinaman Gulch - Oct25

Postby landshark » Thu Sep 25, 2014 7:33 am

I know the build season approaches but I would like to get a run or two in before the snow starts blowing around. We are going to shoot for the 25th of OCT.

I have a private place to camp that isn't far from the trailhead - plenty of room for a group - very cool area if its not too cold and miserable.

If no camping then we can carpool or meet up that morning somewhere along the way.

I would love to go but those two days are booked for me. Later In the month would be good for me and a Sunday preferred.

Ok i will be unable to do Chinaman Gulch this weekend which leaves the 25th of October - or I might be able to do something closer to home Saturday morning - maybe Spring Creek?

I need to put the rear end back together however oredred the wrong seal housing for the ARB so waiting on that to come in...

Chinaman Gulch - Oct25

Postby landshark » Mon Oct 20, 2014 8:57 pm

I'm still planning on it but Iam going to have to do a sat turn around as I had some personal stuff come up fri evening and Sunday.

The alternative is to run spring creek which would be a bit more convenient for me but I know you guys want to run chinamans.

Let me know your thoughts.

Spring Creek still on my "To Do" list so I'm game.

Being so close, maybe we can get more participants ?

Hmmmm

Drew ships out Monday, is wanting to do a trail run this weekend before he leaves. I wonder if the boss will let us out for a day to go play.

Any idea how long this run would take ( including time to get back to downieville)?

It usually takes anywhere from 3 to 6 hours depending on if there are any issues on trail, traffic and weather.

Supposed to be nice sat, if we are on the trail before 10 shouldnt' be many if anyone in front of us.

I have done it in 2 hours but have also been on the trail for over 6 due to two vehicles broke on the trail and then it started to rain..

I would expect 4-5 hours including the run and back to Downieville
