Ice Racing in Georgetown, CO on Friday December 27th

Postby Rox Crusher » Mon Dec 09, 2013 7:29 am

Howdy boys and girls,

A couple of us are going to the Fun Day ice racing event being held at Georgetown Lake on Friday, December 27th. If I am reading their flyer correctly, it starts at 11am and goes until 4 pm. These ice races are put on by Our Gang 4 Wheelers and you can get all the details on this event and the full season at, ourgangiceracing.com.

Participation in the Fun Day event requirements include:

- 20 dollar entry fee
- valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
- four wheel drive vehicle
- willingness to sign waiver / liability release

So far there are at least two Broncos signed up and it would be awesome if more of us could join in the fun.

Post up if you want to go !

not much work to it really but would enjoy the company for sure

If people bring their Broncos up, I will have tools to swap my studded tires on to other rigs

I'm way interested, and it's my birthday. Can't think of any possible way to spend it that would be better than this. Not sure if I'm getting any time off that week from work, but I'm hoping to at least get that day.

you might want to check the regulations they didn't use to allow non members to run studs. I know this was the case a couple of years ago with another group I went with.

I will be a member before then but I'll double check for sure but I think we are ok.

last time we went of fun day, they loaned us some studs and said "have fun".

I don't know the exact racing schedule, but we can use my garage for a meet and great for lunch or before/after the race. I work nights but don't leave til 7. We could order lunch pizza or whatever. Let me know and I'll take care of lunch details. Up to two maybe three rigs can get work done at once in the garage if needed. It's a two minute drive from the lake! Peter

This sounds great. I'll run it by Lori to see if we can swing up. Fair warning--Lori will be looking for a drivers seat if we come... :burnout:

I spoke with Bill last night and you no longer have to be a member of Our Gang 4 Wheelers to participate in any of the racing classes.

The benefit of being a member is that you get discounted entry fees in exchange for helping with flagging and other activities during the races.

I plan to get up there by 9 am Friday morning to pass tech inspection and help them get set up (and get at the head of the line for practice).
