Camping this weekend

Postby Gregg » Wed Oct 07, 2015 3:00 pm

I'm taking my kids camping this weekend. Leaving Friday pm coming back Sunday afternoon. I'm going to the Caribou Creek / Eldorado Mtn Trail Junction. Its north of Nederland. The trail is rated at a 3 and there are some designated camping spots. We're hoping to get #10 or #11. If you're interested in joining us, post up and I'll give out more info/directions.

Cool.

Took the kids up Friday evening and scored a great spot. We saw 5 moose coming in. Saturday we geocached, set up a winch zip line, and wheeled Caribou Creek. There was a lot more water and mud holes after the 3 days of rain. TOOLMAN- this would have been a little more exciting than the last weekend.

How much convincing of yourself did it take to go through that mud puddle? If I remember correctly, it was a little steep getting into it (nose of engine dipping in). Also- which campsite did you get?

The convincing came from my 11 year old daughter. "Come on dad, lets go back and do the hill and the big puddle"...As for campsites, we got #9 which was the best. #10 would have been cool because it backs up to the meadow, but it also is right next to #11. If you had 2 groups, then grab #10 an #11.
