Ho Chi Minh City nightlife! smokin

These picture's were taken at O'Brian's Factory, it's an Irish bar that serves great pizza and they have a great live blue grass band called the Wonderluster's. The band is a mixture of a German lady fiddle player, a banjo player from Michigan, a guitarist from Ohio and a bass player from Australia.

FYI after I took a picture with the sisters, the young lady ran up and wanted her picture taken with me too. They're all wait staff at the bar.

We were staying in Soldotna and fished with guides a lot of the time. The lodge we were staying at was right on the Kenai and could fish for Sockeye from there. We did do a Halibut trip in the Cook Inlet that went out pretty close to Homer. Didn't get any whoppers, but made for some nice filets. All said in done, over 5 days we came back with about 220 pounds of filets so caught well over 500 lbs of fish. Each of us caught a nice sized King Salmon each day too.

Caught a pretty big Rainbow trout on the river too. They were catch and release but this fish was impressive and fought hard!

My inlaws live in Sol.na. Nice place!

I've never reeled in a monster halibut either, but they are fun to fish for and yummy to eat! King has always eluded me. Got tired of throwing money at the special license.

Tragic events led me to California this weekend but also enabled me to check something off my list.

I made the pilgrimage to a little known commercial space atop Signal Hill, CA and snapped this photo.

Image

The name on the front has changed but back in the day, legends were made here. This was the original location of Bill Stroppe's facility where Baja Broncos were prepped for race and customer orders.

Ironic that it's new occupants are an aircraft hardware company considering Stroppe preferred Premier Tanium aircraft hardware for his modifications.

Nice!! All that old stuff and it's remains always astonishes me. I'm out in Cooperstown NY and got to check out the baseball HoF and stuff that is preserved that's like 100 years old is impressive let alone the ruins in other parts of the world. ImageImageImage
