My new (to me) '79

Postby Dirtheadz » Thu Feb 16, 2017 8:54 pm

So I acquired a new daily a week or so ago. Since I sold my '71 F1hundo about 6 months ago, I found out my inner-self really missed a truck with character. Ended up with this gem & absolutely love it. Here's the skinny: 1979 F-1fiddy, 4wd. 300ci 6 cylinder, 435/205, 31x10.50x15's

Looks like a keeper Ben !

Mine has "character" too........it loves to vaporlock and the fuel gauge has left me stranded at least twice

Enjoy !

Nice! Very clean truck Ben. Any rust anywhere or is it as clean underneath as the outside?

paint isnt the best but its pretty good. Its a 50 foot'er. Believe or not, but I haven't found any rust. I looked over the common places (bed over the wheels, cab corners, A pillars and bottom of the doors). This truck takes me back and love driving it. I know I've said it before, but this one I plan on keeping.

Man that's nice. Reminds me of Grandpa's '78. You even have the same trailer brake controller.

Nice truck, I like it! I see a trend here with the '76 and '79. I have been considering something like a '76 or so F250.

Cool beans... I think I have the wrong seal though. Thanks guys! Loving this thing. Your right '76 being built and a '79 as my daily.

The 300 is a low-end torque monster, but I don't think I am patient enough to deal with lack of power everywhere else. Throw a turbo on it!!

Really clean truck and I'd love to find something like that for my son's first rig!
