74 bronco buggy

Postby broncobuggy » Tue Feb 17, 2015 3:14 pm

Finally got bronco buggy home. Still making minor adjustments to suspension. Started with a 74 bronco that I had 25 years of goodies bolted on. So me and buddy Oliver took it down to the engine compartment and dash. He then stretched it forward 12". We narrowed body 18" front a day back. Parts used are as follows. 351w Howell f.i. ms ignition b.c. Broncos shorty headers. C -6 w tci manual valve body. Atlas 4.3. Drive shafts by Bills Englewood. True hi9 w 5.40 gears grizzly lockers . King coil over 14" w air bumps. Spidertrax diferentials with 4340 axles. Willwood discs. Currie a ti rocksWarn hubs.full exo cage. Rear mount Ron Davis radiator. Fuel safe cell recessed into floor. 2 optimas. Master craft seats w 5 point belts. Full set auto meter gauges. 37" Goodyear on 17th trail ready bead locks. I'm sure I missed something?

Oh, with a rig like that, I am sure you are missing out on more than half the details!! What a nice rig! Is the cab still stock width?

What about suspension? Looks like 3-link w/ panhard?

Hi9...would love me a pair of those someday!!

So are we taking any bets how many runs you get on this thing before you upgrade to fo-dees? (keep me in mind when you want to sell the 37's :-)

I can't wait to see this rig perform! Which Axle housings are you running? A friend of mine had me reverse engineer a similar housing a few years ago. Said he was going to build a few sets and he'd build me some if I bought the materials. Never came to fruition. Bummer!

That front looks like an extra-wicked 609 with the fabricated knuckles.

We carefully engine red it to run 37's as that's as tall asy garage door allows. Already have to lower it .5" as it hits garage frame top. oops . knuck less 4340 chrome moly. I also used Ultra4racing.com rules for that tire class so it's built with a lot of safety in mind.

Why not go to Bronco Safari in Moab?

We look to be largely lacking in CO representation this year so far!

bronco buggy first trip to bronco safari

Postby broncobuggy » Mon May 11, 2015 7:44 pm

So we got to take the bronco buggy out to the bronco safari in moab. Met some neat people. First trails in bronco buggy. Some minor breaks but nothing serious. Loose plug wire. Easy fix. Alternator belt screaming causing volt issues with my computer. Jumper cables kept er going from alternate battery. A little over heating. Drilling holes in the firewall helped rear mount radiator get air. Fixed belt. Went to aRea bfe. Did green day. Found out that my C -6 doesn't work at 6' vertical wall. By pass after almost rolling over backward. Lol. Left resting on the rear end. Used exo cage in wild Crack. Winches out. Won ingenuity award at bronco show. Lots of fun. Be back next year.
