What fuel rail will you be using and how will you handle return fuel ?

Look forward to helping on the project !

I’ve got the fuel rail with the return line, planning to plumb it the same way as the supply and run a fuel hose to a T fitting in the filler vent tube.

Day 1 of the EFI swap is in the books. The motor was stripped of the carb, intake, heads, and, ignition system. The computer has a new home in the firewall. The back half of the fuel lines are plumbed. The GT40P heads, lower intake, fuel rail, and valve covers are on. Tomorrow the goals are to make the fuel lines for the engine bay, get the wiring squared away, change the oil, and finish up a couple of other random projects.

Huge thanks to Jeff (Mr. Right Stuff), Phil (ANfittingsdirect’s biggest fan), Jeremy, Chuck, Rob, Steve (the firewall slayer), Chris, and Adam for shuttling the computer from EFI Guy.

Gary I sequestered your flaring and AN Tool’s. Making fuel and brake lines with it here soon. Let me know when you need them back and I can drop off. Hope that’s ok.

I can’t begin to thank Phil, Jeremy, Jeff, John, Chuck, Kevin, Shawn and everyone that came over yesterday enough for their hard work this weekend. Today, the wiring, fuel lines, upper intake and a few other side projects got wrapped up and allowed Buddy to go for a drive tonight. I can’t believe the difference in how it drives. It’s like a completely different vehicle. This weekend also uncovered a few items that will be addressed soon. For now, I’m just very thankful for this group and everyone’s willingness to help because a project like this would’ve taken me an unbelievably long time to do myself, and even then it wouldn’t be done as well as this is.

I’ll get some additional pictures tomorrow but here are a couple showing the progress.

Seriously, it was everyone else. I’d still be staring at it thinking about what to take apart next if it were just me.

Looks awesome Tim!
Glad to hear the EFI swap is complete and up an running, defiantly lots and lots of bronco knowledge in your garage the past few days. Wish I could have been there for the tutorial on the wiring!

A couple more pics from the weekend. One is the coolant overflow/washer tank mounted on the front of the driver’s side fender. Second is the fuel pump/filter setup. I’m running the e2000 frame mounted pump from late ‘80s Bronco/F-150 without the low pressure pump to feed it.

That washer/coolant tank is from any 90's F series or Bronco - they are plentiful in the pull n pays, might take a while to find one that isn't totally trashed

Yeah it's been low on the priority list. For $7 at the pick n pull, its pretty sweet.

They came in early 2000s Suburbans, Tahoes, and full size GM trucks. The temp sensor is near the driver’s side headlight. be sure to grab a decent pigtail from the mirror plug and the temp sensor. Pretty good write up on wiring can be found here: https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/comp ... cs-952705/ There are 5 wires to connect: switched power, ground, 2 temp sensor wires, and a wire that cancels the auto dimming feature when you are in reverse. The mounting plate can be found at any parts store.

(I’d like to apologize for posting a link to a J**p forum on this site.)

Mounted the MAF sensor and the relay/fuse box to the fender using some nice stainless brackets courtesy of D&D72. Thanks John!

Spent a little time working on Buddy today. I put the wiper motor cover and visors back on for the first time in a few years. I also took Phil’s advice and replaced the fan clutch with a severe duty clutch from a trailblazer. It moves the fan forward about 1.5-2 inches which means I don’t need the homemade fan shroud extension any more.
