Post Southern CO engine rebuilder
A while ago I had hatched a little plan to get my bronco to Denver and have my cousin rebuild the motor while Gary performed his magic on my engine harness. It seemed that I just needed to do some coordination to make it happen. But my cousin doesn't have the room in his shop to take on something like this, so I am back to the drawing board. My bronco is in Monte Vista where my Dad lives. In an effort to make it as easy on him as possible, anyone know of someone who might freshen up my engine a little and perhaps still coordinate with Gary to revamp my harness? I'll talk to my dad as he may know someone as well.

Time is on my side as I don't need this done until around March.

Thanks for the info!

Just a little update. My dad, being a diesel mechanic, has some connections in MV, and it sounds like I can certainly get the work done down there, but I have yet to call any of these guys and get a budgetary price. I may be bouncing newbie questions off you guys if I get the ball rolling here, but perhaps if you have some ideas I should consider, please let me know.

Here are the details as I know them:
MAF SEFI 351W from a '95 F-250, roller cam, GT-40 intake, 65mm BBK TB, 70mm MAF, FRPP
harness, KNN, A9L EEC

I was considering that! I know and trust Corey! But I think I may have it sorted out. My dad has offered to pull the motor for me, which allows for some flexibility. My cousin said he can deal with just the motor, so I think I am leaning that direction.

So...what are things I should consider outside the long block? What should I do with injectors? New plugs & wires of course (brand?), anything else?

If you are planning to go with the Ford Explorer EFI stuff-- the recommendations have been the 19 LB. Injectors. I would suggest just buying a set of refurbished ones off the bat unless you are really wanting to do all the cleaning and gaskets yourself. I bought mine off of EBAY for around $100. I could look at exactly who I bought them from (bought 2 sets actually- TOOLMAN is using the other).

They're seem plentiful online for around $100 for a set of 8 refurb/rebuilt. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Explorer-5 ... jQ&vxp=mtr

I'll check the ebay site Eck - thanks! $100 seems reasonable for a set of 8. I can only assume what I have in there now is factory for the '95 F-250.

Wonder if he'd take mine as a core??

Gabe - I actually talked to Steve at Vans as a recommendation of my Dad. He said they can do the work, but they are logged out to 6+ weeks. I could still make that work, but I've wanted my cousin to do the work from the get-go. I know he has my best interest in mind. Not that everyone doesn't, but it's nice to have a previous relationship with the guy working on your engine. I just need to finalize things with him.
