Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Pulled it out of my garage with the full soft top installed. This was excellent news, as I wasn't sure that was possible.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Replaced leaky valve cover gaskets with non-leaky new ones. New ones are high tech rubber and thinner which meant a little more grinding inside the valve covers (I could see a little contact was happening already) and some bolt shortening.
Replaced the full race valve body with a gentler one. The old C4 looks pretty good inside after 40K miles. I also swapped the stock pan for a B&M with a real filter. I had to massage the dipstick tube to fit. It's too close to the exhaust. 20160916_172949.jpg Bronco 004.jpg

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Since im still waiting on my brake parts to arrive I decided to roll the bronco out and pull the cage. Set the carpet back in and bolted the cage back down. Hoping this week will allow me time to install the seats and center console. Will have to modify the console to house my new switches and jb fab twin stick.

I was able to get the cage and the bed cleaned up and painted. Looks a lot better than it was. It's a win in my book.

Got the taurus fan wired in. Had to replace my brand new master cylinder with another. Bled, Bled, Bled, Bled, and still needs more. I have a gallon through this system and still cant get a firm pedal. I'll bleed some more in the morning then take it for a spin around the block.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Went to a big sale the local scrap hauler had. I know him from working at the bodyshops but have never been to his house/yard.
I came home with a nice deal on a spare ZF, just in case, you know. And a blue Ranger rear bench seat in very nice condition. A little wear on the back, but I think it will clean up nice. No obvious rips or tears.
Tried to buy a 79 kingpin 60, but he knew what it was worth.
He has a real nice 70 Bronco, very stock, almost no rust. Sorry no pics. He wasn't interested in selling, he also said someone had recently told him it was worth $15-$20K. I told him I agreed. We talked about putting an overdrive trans in. He had another ZF in an F250 & a couple M50Ds, we talked about those as options.
He had a couple nice bump side, a 4x4 F250 and a 2x4 half ton, both 8' beds, rough but not rusty.

Nice score(s) Chad
Does Gunni have the highest Bronco per capita or do you just know where they are all at ?

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Not wrecked, just long abandoned. Very solid startsNot sure the F250 was for sale, I could ask. But the 1/2 ton (can't remember if it was an F100 or 150) had $900 written on it. Mostly complete really. I knew I should have taken pics.
I did have Molly take pics of this. I know you were talking about DeSotos, this would make a very cool family truckster. I think it's a 46. It didn't have a price on it either.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
That's a beautiful blue on that bronco. I like the desoto too.
If you happen to be by there again inquire about the 250 and take pics of both for me if you would be so kind.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Got a new Led Light bar for the half cab. I had to make a bracket so I could attach it to the roll bar. Got it painted and all mounted up. Wiring came out better than I originally thought. All good and on to the next project

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Replaced the power steering pump for the 4th time since March.
The gal at Oriellys (Natasha says hello Phil) said that it's a big problem right now. All the parts stores get the reman pumps from the same two reman companies who are in a price war. So, the reliability has went to hell as they cut corners on the rebuilds.

I'm really getting tired of this.
The decline of quality is accelerating in the name of greatest profit and people's own cheapness.

That's a good place to get them. I bought my set there years ago. Do yourself a favor and shoot a couple coats of clear coat over them. Mine started rusting within a few months.

Good idea. Thanks. Turns out after talking to the owner, my wife grew up around the corner from him and they talked forever,,, kinda awkward. Lol. Also saw a guy in a nice Green 71 named Mike Richards or Rogers or something like that. Real nice guy. We just love Manitou.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Good Afternoon All, Got a new fuel delivery device installed and now it runs better than ever! No longer 3 pedaling it at a stop light! Also decided I might need some tunes and found a 10a fuse blown. Didn't have one so now my wife has no seat heaters ! Cruised it around the new town and parked it in the new driveway! Have a great weekend!

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I put in a new clutch and rebuilt the D20 a couple of years ago- but even with my feet pushing on the shift stick it was really hard to shift in/out of 4x4. I thought perhaps I'd messed it up.
I put in the JB custom Fab twin stick conversion this week and took it for a test drive....no problems now.
First time I've done anything to the Bronco in a year...
