ZF5 adapter
This is a very long shot, but if anyone stumbles across a deal on a ZF5 to Dana 20 adapter please let me know. Thanks!

Re: ZF5 adapter
You know an Atlas doesn't require an adapter.

Re: ZF5 adapter
I was curious to see who'd post that first. The thought has crossed my mind. I figure the adapter would be easy to sell if I go that route. I want to try the Dana first. They're pretty stout and I've got half a set of Tera low gears sitting on the shelf. The Dana is also a bunch lighter and I'm not sure I need the strength.

Re: ZF5 adapter
I think Justin has more weight in link brackets welded to his front axle, than the difference between an Atlas & a D20. LOL.

Re: ZF5 adapter
The fact that an Atlas didn't need an adapter was my excuse to spend more on a transfer case than I paid for my whole Bronco.

Re: ZF5 adapter
What's another 2 years wait to get the funding for an Atlas?

Re: ZF5 adapter
I bought an Atlas with no speedometer provision (saved almost 2" overall length). I already had an aftermarket speedometer that can use a GPS sensor. Since I went with the 4 speed, I really wanted to keep it all as short as possible. I also went with the smallest spacer that allows the ZF to bolt to the Atlas. They recommend a 1", I bought their smallest a .5". I could have used .25".

Re: ZF5 adapter
What's the overall length of your atlas from mounting surface to the centerline of the u-joint? Their web site lists the length, but doesn't specify if that length includes the yoke. Mostly curious.

ZF5 adapter
Don't forget the HD output shaft you will need for the Dana 20

Re: ZF5 adapter
Thanks chad! I've heard mixed things on the Dana output. Lots of people seem to be running g the stock one without problems. I've got a spare and plan to carry that for now.
