Post Someone to weld up my 1-ton steering
I picked up the Ruff Stuff 1-ton kit last November on their Black Friday deal. Now that I have the brakes bled, I'm ready to move on to it. I don't have a welder so was wondering if anyone in the club wanted a side-job. Or if anyone wants to recommend someone. Willing to pay as I don't have the expertise or tools to do it right.

I'm sure I can measure everything up but if anyone wants to give pointers, I'd appreciate it. Since my old tie-rods are shot, the Bronco's not drivable right now. I'm thinking it might be a two step process. Get the measurement from knuckle to knuckle with the wheels straight ahead (maybe slightly toe in by 1/8"?) and build that part, then install and measure for the drag link after. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Adam

sounds like you have a plan. You can actually mock up alot of it. If you want (I know its a a little ways) I can weld it it up for you if you can get to the springs. I heart

Cool. I'll get it mocked up and take the measurements. I'll keep you posted. Would love to get this drivable again shortly.

What year is you bronco? D44? Year of knuckles? I ask because we built several of these setups a while back and I'm sure we have the measurements you need.

It's a 75 with the 44. I did the F150 knuckles from a 78 or 79. If some one has the measurements, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I've got a tutorial on how to build these that includes measurements that should work for you. Search "heavy duty tie rod". If you can't find it I can track it down when I'm not on my phone.

Found it. I'll go through it and verify measurements.
