thinkin about parting out my 79

thinkin about parting out my 79

Postby ZOSO » Sun Oct 12, 2014 6:31 am

Since my buyer backed out and i'd loose a bunch of money Im thinking about parting out my 79. So my question is what are the full widths worth? 4.88's, detroit rear, open front, tbird calipers front, TSM rear disc's. Gears and bearing have maybe 5k miles on em.

Talk to me about these axles, how much do you want for them? I am in no hurry at all - maybe by spring.

(it seems I have managed to donate mine to my son)

So can we work out deal on the diff if it's 31 spline?

If he takes the diff, I may be interested in the housing, possibly the axles, esp if they're upgraded.

Dude,

I already told you, I have an extra center section/drop out. Open, 4:10 gears. I think it is 31 splines as it came out of a full width. Easy enough to check out. not much of a deal to work out there. trade for parts already in my garage, yard and basement and some of that fabled bronco karma.

Sound good?

Umm not sure what they are worth. I probably wont start the part out until february or so.

The axles are stock 79. front has new joints in the shafts. 4.88's and an open diff. Has GM tre's with 1/4" wall DOM tubing TRO. New brakes with tbird calipers. Warn premium hubs. The rear has stock housing and stock shafts. 4.88's with a detroit locker. Has TSM rear disc's with NO ebrake.

Gears and bearings have very few miles on em. 1330 rear yoke. 1310 front yoke.

Also has a healthy 460/c6/205 combo that would make that stretched EB haul ass...... :burnout:

Haulin ass comes at a cost, I am more inclined to find double digit fuel economy. But thanks anyway:burnout:

Put a number on those axles. We will see what I can do February is a much better time for me anyway. Post holiday wallet drain and all

Shoot me a price on the frame. Not particularly interested in the body as you said it's pretty rusty. And I have something else in mind.

It also has a rare saginaw powersteering pump that was only made for a very short period of time that fits the stock location and hoses.

I'll start to compile a list of parts that are on it and get pics of it.

Zack the only rusty parts are the door jams and tail gate. But I have a rust free gate sitting here for it.
