I've been trying to track down a lack of "pick-up", "power", "get up and go", and :burnout: in my EFI set-up. We tried restabbing the distributor (yes-at the M&G) without much of a change. I cleaned the MAF sensor which DID make a difference. But I still feel like there is a delay in fast acceleration. No backfires, just the Bronco taking some time before it gets going. Therefore, I'm looking into the TPS. I've read into a couple post on CB.com but can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Some threads suggested the voltage on the "Green" wire should be between .75 and 1.00 V. However, the guy in the following video got a better acceleration response we he moved the sensor so it read 1.17 V. Long question short: Can I just swivel this sensor to an optimal response? What do you other EFI dudes have it set at?

I set em all at .95 and call it done.

Increasing the voltage for better response is a wives tale, whoever came up with that doesn't understand how "ratch" works. In fact setting it higher could cause the opposite, You may have to open the throttle even further before WOT mode kicks in. With the TPS set higher it may take say 3.2 volts because the ratch value is higher to trigger WOT mode in the PCM rather than 3.0 volts.

What PCM code and MAF are you running?

Update:
I moved TPS volts up to .95 and it was idling fine but accelerating from a stop was rougher. I moved it down to .83 and it seems pretty good. Overall, it has been an improvement. I ran codes just because and I will cross reference them later.

First thing I would look at is to see if the throttle is opening all the way. Maybe your purse is stuck under the pedal.

Here at altitude you can use a bit more advance. I think I used to use a couple more in all my old dizzy vehicles. Added a couple more degrees on my Harley as well. Might be too much a lower elevations but riding/driving up here it works.

You can run a few more degrees advance during cold temperatures generally. Just bump it up a few and if it doesn't ping you're good. What is your timing set at now?
