Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Over the last couple weeks I've been chipping away at this. I learned a lot from my first time with bondo. I learned that I shouldn't do it ever again. However, it was an improvement from the previous dash condition. BTW, the radio is just the face plate.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
More bumper.
Tomorrow I'll plate the ends of the pipe, tying the upper & lower pipes together & finish weld it. I'll need to keep an eye things to get it straight & square, it's pretty close (as close as my Bronco's body) but it will take some tweaking along the way too.
Similar over all height & pipe size to the Smittybuilt, but Sch 40 vs thin wall. Its also a couple inches higer, narrower, and the winch is set back at least 3" closer to the grill. I've reused the Dodge Ram truck "D" ring/winch points but they are bolted directly at the frame ends, not outboard like my old bumper.
A little grill trimming to fit: P1020044.JPG
Mostly done

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Not today, but yesterday my friend and I made one last final repair to front frame body mounts. All ready for touch up paint to match the rest of the frame and then it's reassembly time. Also welded on the BC Broncos power steering frame plate. Can't wait for the assembly to begin!

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Been feeling a little sluggish last few months.
Dr prescribed a weight loss and excercise program.
Tonight I dropped 175 lbs of snow plow mounting off the front end and couple hundred lbs of cement (ballast) from the rear.
Should be ready to run Moab in a couple weeks !

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I went from 3.50 gears to 4.56 gears. Then drove 30 miles to Kinder's house and back. I did a knuckle over conversion and the steering was so much better that instead of doing my normal 60-65 I was doing 75-85 on 33 inch tires. It over heated and overflowed the radiator. That in turn overheated the transmission. When I finally pulled in the driveway it was leaking every fluid possible. When I started it today I can hear a bad lifter and a loud repeating deep thud noise coming from inside the engine. It is rather impressive.

Trace a white chalk line around it and put up some police tape.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
After spending all morning spring cleaning the yard landscaping up, I thought I might take a stab at the garage.... Mind you, we have done dodge cummins fuel systems, put an entire new engine and front end in Drews bronco, several snow machine projects, rebuilt a smashed ranger, and countless other so called "projects" since the last time this garage was properly cleaned. Interestingly, I found that much of my missing stuff was actually in my garage, missplaced and not put away... But technically still in my possession.
But guess what I found buried under the sliding back glass for dans cummins, and about fortyeleven layers of other misc crap that piled up over the winter....?
WILMA!!
I might just get to spend some real quality time with her in the comming weeks and months, I have certainly neglected her, yet she waited paintly there for me in the cold dark garage as I worked on others, celebrated holidays, shoveled driveways, played numerous hockey games and mostly just ignored her.
Time to make things right
I will finish digging her out and get busy once again, giving her the attention she craves and deserves
Edit: Oh how plans can change....
So I finished digging her out and thought I would get started installing the leafs and coils when the neighbor wanders into the garage. He asks for Drew who is not home. Turns out one of the layers I had to dig through was his. Several pieces of sheet metal and round stock that Drew was supposed to help him weld up into a shield of sorts for his senior project.
That is due on Monday
Drew is out for the night celebrating his birthday...
So guess who had the pro ledge of teaching another teenager something about fabrication. I would demonstrate and then let him do all the work. I think it came out pretty cool.
But there went the 4.5 hrs I had left to install the suspension
Yeah, it was worth it. His dad is really a cool guy, is my vet and the whole family is pretty great.
Means I have to get up early tomorrow tho

What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I drove mine to a car show where the only people to look at it were car salesmen. I can't blame the others; they were driving Mustangs and obviously of a higher class than the guy who showed up in a truck with 5 different colors on it. Then, 75DBE showed up and we absconded to turn wrenches.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
A huge thanks to Viperwolf1, 777mechanic, and plumbdoctor for saving my Moab bacon.
They installed my air compressor in less time than it took me to drill four holes in the right spot.
Thanks again guys !

I invented some new swear words and spot welded the mounting tab to the body on the voltage reg for the guage cluster.
