I'm looking at getting a set of the hydraulic liftgate props for my rear window. Anybody use them? I was looking at the kit from Tom's as they are about 1/2 the price as Wild Horses. Give me your pro's and con's. Thanks!

I have them on my hood and would say they are one of my favorite adds.

I have them on my lift gate, they worked great for about 8 or 10 months then the shocks gave up, so I need to replace them.

I've had them on my rear lift for about 5 years now...great addition and I think I got mine from Tom's as well.

Got mine from Tom's about ten years ago. They were awesome for the first eight years. I need to replace the cylinders now.

I installed a set many years ago. I'm very happy. I didn't use a kit, I just bought a couple shocks and the hardware from Carquest or Napa. It wasn't any cheaper than a kit, if I remember.

Check mcmaster.com for new shocks. Replaced some for my topper on my truck for less than half what the topper store wanted for OEM's

They may even have the brackets to bolt in.
