The junk yard broncos
It all started about a week ago when Shawn saw a camper in a scrap yard while he was driving around his neighborhood knowing that kinder needed one, he stopped to knock on the door to be greeted by an elderly fellow named Dan. He said it was for sale, sending kinder a quick text he would return with his buddy tomorrow. My dad and I set off to the scrapyard the next day with Mike and Phil. When we arrived kinder knocked on the door to be pointed to the trailer. We looked over the trailer when Mike and Phil said there are 3 broncos just down the way. With new intentions the gang went over to 3 clunkers rusting away. Shawn found us and we inspected the Ponies finding tons of parts a good frame and a 351 engine that I fell head over heels for. Some more small chat and we decided to ask him for two allowing Mike to do the talking was kind of a mistake because he wanted more then we were willing to pay. Lets skip one week forward when we go back. To my horror someone already took my motor. There were still parts, Matt joined in and got there first with Shawn so we could use his trailer but Dave was in a bad mood when the rest of gang got there he was really hostile. Mike started to talk him down more but Dave started cussing, throwing a ton of f bombs at us to the point he was screaming at us. My dad stepped in and tried to calm him down, but apparently he does not like tall guys. Mike got him to a price we could afford and we settled on it. Some brute force and tough love we got them on the trailers. We set off with a near to no rust body for me and tons of parts for other projects. Knowing that we will never come back we went off to Carl's Jr for burgers and to reflect on how big of a jerk that man was and the near professional negotiating skills of Mike.

That blue beauty is hiding good things, the orange may be ugly but it is real solid. Pics for the post, big thanks to Matt, with that look in his eye he was thinking of just tugging it North to his place (would make 3 for him) instead of tugging it south for a tear down.

HAHA talk to booger about that. I think this is the same ones he was telling me about the other day. A "bronco Shop" from down south tried to buy those.

Re: The junk yard broncos
once everything is pulled off and sandblasted and cleaned we'll have a mini bronco parts sale . there are some awesome parts on the blue one . it's an auto with a column and c4 that aka viperwolf will be rebuilding and selling as a complete setup . after the big bronco haul phil and i replaced 8ft. of fencing and i found out that among other things that phil is a dog whisperer , so if dog sitting is ever needed he's your man !

Re: The junk yard broncos
Nice write up TFB. It was an adventure this morning. It could have gone in many directions but CCB kept its cool despite the vulgar maniac (the junk yard guy--not Phil). I wish we had some audio of what this guy was saying. It's another testiment of the integrity of the members in this club. Nice job.

Re: The junk yard broncos
Man....you guys work fast! It took us longer to haggle and drag that thing all over creation...and I mean drag ! Now I have to ask the question....how was the salvage value....would Dave be proud ! Are you on to the orange bronco yet? Thanks again for letting me play and learning the skills of Mike. I will never try to make a deal without him ! And...Kirk...your height is a little intimidating for us short people...quit frightening me ! Well done fellas! Matt

1460 lbs of rust, frame, Shawn's blue carpet, dead floor jack, abused wheels and chicken bones = $131.40.

May he rest in peace (or pieces as it is); Ol' Blue's heart & lungs, various organs and legs will be used to keep other Broncos alive.

Re: The junk yard broncos
I've been thinking a crap frame would be the perfect start for a tub rotesserie.

Re: The junk yard broncos
Big O isn't terminal at all, just no heart (missed it by hours), there will be a usable frame, old school 4 spd and a disk front end that will live on. Just don't look for the body to come up for sale, TFB will be putting in the hours to make it a beauty.

I think we have named TFB's build. "The Big O"
