Post Hub/Drum seperation
Anyone know of a sure fire technique for separating the drum from a hub, aside from going out and buying a press? I really don't feel like paying one of the local shops $89 an hour!!!! when I can spend that much on a press from Harbor Freight. And I really don't feel like going down to HF, buying the press, setting it up and only using it once a decade.

I was thinking BFH and a block of wood but I dunno. Then my problem becomes marrying up the new drum and hub. Guess I'm gonna have to suck it up and drop the coin unless someone has a trick up their sleeve.

appreciate the offers. I'm hoping to get these back on before Saturday though. Pretty much leaves me with tonight and maybe tomorrow night, depending on the wife's work situation. I generally avoid wrenching when she is off of work, in order to maintain rapport at home and not sour her to Bronco-madness.

Don, your technique sounds familiar and I think I might have done something similar on the '66 about 10 years ago in my backyard in NC. It's just been awhile. I know I certainly didn't use the brass drift then, but I will be sure to this time.

Lucky for me the only thing I have had to use heat on to date was the tracbar and leaf spring bushings. Of course, that was less heat and more FIRE!!!
