And yes, I mean the house this time. I need to have at least one circuit added to my garage. If I blow a breaker and shut off the tv while my wife is watching the batchelor one more time I might just find Myself as one.

I will help you with it. I did mine and its great. I had an empty circit from when I chaged our stove to gas, then ran a sub panel into the garage and outlets and breakers from there.

That Sir, would be awesome!

I do not have an extra circuit that I am aware of, but I do believe I have room in the panel. Ideally I would gain 2 circuts. One standard and one 220 but I could probably live with just the one standard circuit. I can pull the wire, mount the boxes and even probably have much of what I need. But I have no idea how to add another circuit to the panel

When is a good time for you to come by and get me started on my list?

We will have to do some math as to how many amps you have going into and out of your main panel. Then decide if we can run a 50 amp to the garage panel and split it up from there. Next weekend work for you?

Next weekend should work well. if it comes down to it, another standard circuit is more important than the 220. I can always plug into the dryer Outlet for my 220 when I do someday get a bigger welder.

I added a 20amp circuit for the garage heater and piped it into a new 2 outlet box on the ceiling. One outlet goes to the heater, and I dropped an extension cord from the other to use anywhere in the garage. It works great and was easy. I was amazed that the entire garage was only on one 15amp circuit previously.

I also had never added a circuit, but once you crack open the main panel, it's very straight forward looking at the install of all the other ones. I pulled one of 20amp breakers and took it to Home Depot and found one to match it.

Now I can have the compressor going, heater on, lights on, and no tripped breakers:) You'll love it.

Yeah, it's pretty straight forward, especially since you have sons for the tight crawl spaces! I added two 20amp circuits to my garage and have been happy since! Do some thinking as to where you want the outlet at. I put in two duplex outlets on either side of the big door. Having a three-car garage, I primarily only use the one between the doors, but I have used the one on the far side too.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help. I imagine that the first time JTS comes over it will be more of a look at the project and figure out what we need type of visit, then I can collect the nessasary materials that I do not already have and do the rough in work. Then it should be a simple thing to do the final hook up on a second day.

I am more worried about the connections inside the panel than anything else. That and looking at the garage that the PO sort of finished, I will have to run some surface mounted conduit.

As far as the sons helping out, you can count on that.

Gents - might have to put this project off for a week or two - it turns out the master bathroom toilet has been leaking and the laminate flooring is warping so Saturday I will be pulling the toilet - removing the floor and lets hope, not replacing the sub floor...

I guess this one is my fault, I have noticed the toilet being loose for a few weeks now and just kept putting off pulling it and replacing the wax ring... Let me tell you how much I am looking forward to this project.

Will be in touch soon.
