Not sure on how large it can go but I can easily see it working on 8"+....it wraps around the whole limb which is nice.

Cutting your own tree is a very cool tradition. Luckily, the nursery by my home was open on Sunday Night. When you got the tree home, was it like National Lampoon Christmas Vacation - way tooo big? I love that movie.
