Steering shaft question
I've got a '76 EB lower steering shaft that has part of the rag joint at the top of it. I'm looking to get rid of the rag joint to decrease steering slop, but am not sure what is under that part of the rag joint if I were to try and pull it off. I'm hoping to swap it out for a u-joint. Anyone know?

Re: Steering shaft question
You mean you cut off the rag joint or the lower U-joint? If it was the rag joint, how did you attach the u-joint to the lower shaft. Just pin it?

Re: Steering shaft question
Cool, thanks! After doing some more poking around I discovered that Borgeson sells telescoping shafts with a 3/4 DD on one end and a 1" on the other. The list price is $78, so I'm guessing it'll be a decent chunk less retail. I may take that shaft I bought today back and go the other route. It'd let me build an all-new lower shaft without a rag joint for significantly less than the Flaming river stuff.
