Bronco Hut headers
I'm approaching a part of my project that I'm dreading. My BC Broncos shorty headers did not fit with my ZF. I realized this many months ago, maybe a year or more. The flange is clocked so that it hits the dome on the bell housing, behind the starter. They BARELY fit with my NP435. Without major surgery I really don't think they are going to. I feel like I'd have to completely remove one mounting ear or grind all the way through the bellhousing. Neither is something I want to do. I'll be refitting them soon, to refresh my memory, but I was pretty damn sure I was screwed when I first fit my trans.
I was trying to justify Bronco Hut headers to myself, as they seem to have the opposite problem of being too far from the block. That would not be a problem for me. Since my exhaust isn't going to fit with my new driveline, changing headers isn't so horrible. And I'd rather save my BCB headers & exhaust for another project.
Are the BH headers bigger or better than BCB headers? I thought I remember Airbur having them built for his aftermarket heads/gigantic motor. But I forget the specifics. BCB's are 1-5/8" tubes with 2.5" collectors, and I think BH's are too.
Thanks

Re: Bronco Hut headers
They have 2 sets. One for larger engine requirements and then the smaller ones for more practical Bronco engines.

Re: Bronco Hut headers
Ok that makes sense.

Re: Bronco Hut headers
WH's headers are supposed to fit with the ZF as well, for what it's worth.

Re: Bronco Hut headers
I was hoping Bronco huts headers headers were magical and fit normal 302s and strokers. Then I could upgrade now. But they aren't magic. Looks like I might cut and turn my collector flange. BCB said they would.do it, but its probably easier to get it done locally.

Re: Bronco Hut headers
Plus, they have failed to return my call from this morning, regarding the stock status of their headers, and an email from last week asking about the 72's upholstery. I think I'll just continue NOT doing business with them.

Bronco Hut headers
I no longer do business with BC Broncos directly. They have repeatedly not called me back nor returned any of my emails. This is even after I tried to buy a replacement frame for one of their soft tops. ($350 made to order plus shipping) since they did not call me back I found someone local to fab one and paid slightly less.
I have even talked to multiple people and was told so and so will call you right back - multiple times. They have lost me as a customer.

Re: Bronco Hut headers
Thanks Joe, I actually bolted my BCB headers up and they fit. I'm at a loss as to why I didn't think they fit, it has been well over a year since I tried. They fit very tight but I think they will be fine.
I haven't had terrible experience with BCB, but don't buy much from them. I have had a few items that took too long to get. But they have actually been quite helpful when I've called for tech advice. Just talked to Chuck regarding the header fit, and he offered to cut & reweld the flanges for me.
I've never done business with Bronco Hut. They failed to return emails & phone calls last week. Which is disappointing, but not unexpected. I've heard their sheet metal & upholstery is good, and I wanted to use it on the 72 & 66. I'm not going to beg someone to do business with them.
