 Sprung a leak (fuel, that is) Yeah, not good. I took the Bronco out for a spin when I finished the steering upgrade and when I got back I noticed it dripping something. Looked and it was coming off the fuel pump (stock, mechanical). I thought it was odd cause it was coming from the hard line that goes to the carb and not the rubber line that comes from the fuel tank.
Well, today I started looking around making sure everything was tight and realized it was coming from up above. I have fluid on the top of the engine. So I started up the Bronco and watched to see where it was coming from (spoiler, it wasn't the rubber line from the hard line to the carb). On the front of the carb, there is a little hole right below the accelerator pump and every time you give it gas, fuel squirts out. I'm not a carb expert and this one was last rebuilt probably 15 years ago. Pics are below. Do I just need to rebuild the carb? Or is there something else up? Hopefully it's a simple fix.

Re: Sprung a leak (fuel, that is) Ok, after looking on YouTube, I think it's just the diaphragm on the accelerator pump. I happen to have a rebuild kit for my carb in the tool box. I'll try just replacing that and see how it goes.

Re: Sprung a leak (fuel, that is) Haha, yep, it would fit with the current project downward spiral. Don't really want to rebuild it since I'm hoping to swap in the Explorer motor in about 8 weeks. Oh well, we'll see how it goes. Only carb I've ever rebuilt is the Amal one on my Triumph.

Re: Sprung a leak (fuel, that is) I have a fresh rebuilt 2100 you are welcome to borrow until you swap to the exploder. I would like it back so I can rebuild my 302 someday but that isn't in the next couple of months. I rebuilt it thinking that was my problem. Ran for about five minutes before figuring out I have bigger issues... I have a 98 mountaineer for a donor ready to go pull so the 302 can be my longer term project.
It is probably easier to rebuild yours than drive down to Pueblo but if you want it for a while let me know.
