Gear oil study
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=w ... 8TaeSsiLgQStudy on gear oil. AMSOIL seemed to be the all around best. I was surprised how poorly Royal Purple scored. Mobile 1 came in a distant second . What kind of gear oil is everyone running? I have been using Mobile 1, but after reading this study I am going to try AMSOIL.

Re: Gear oil study
Page 19 has the study results. I read the whole thing, but it was 0330 am and I don't sleep. I stay awake thinking of ways to spend money on my Bronco.

Re: Gear oil study
I put Amsoil or Schaeffer's in when something needed replacing, except for my bronco as it leaked enough that I couldn't afford that!

Re: Gear oil study
I'm not sure I buy it. I'm always skeptical of privately funded studies where the funding source is the winner, especially when it's by a very significant margin. Amsoil has a good rep in many circles, but I have a hard time believing that they've got something magical.

I've used Royal Purple because it's done me well for motor oil I'd love to find awesome but cheap
