Post Which High Pressure Fuel pump?
Some of you may recall the debacle I had getting my freshly rebuilt motor to run consistently. I had used the same recipe as before, but with newer pumps (a supply pump at the tank and HP in the engine bay). Turned out the LP pump was starving the HP pump and I lost a couple Airtex pumps that way. I replaced it with a Bosch 69100 and moved it to right near the tank eliminating the LP pump. That has been working flawlessly since. however, I am noticing the Bosch getting louder and louder, so I wanted to look into a replacement to have on hand BEFORE I need one.

I know Walbro was recommended. Any others I should consider? Not opposed to spending a little bit of coin to get something that will give me the service life the OE one did. Speaking of OE, I am not opposed to running to the ole pick-n-pull to get one of those either. I just need an external inline pump.

Thanks!

I'm watching this as I've been running a LP pump (Carter)/Accumulator/HP (Airtex) pump since I went to EFI. I've never had any reliability issues.

To simplify things I have recently redone my set up by eliminating the LP pump and Accumulator. I've mounted the Airtex pump (similar to the Bosch pump you are using) as close to the tank as possible. I'm a little worried about how it will all work.

Used an Aeromotive brand on Willem’s build, in tank version and has been great. If they make an external style I would give that brand a try.

I did some reading on CB.com to see if there were other suggestions. There are lots of people who are running the Bosch and Airtex pumps we are running with good performance and reliability. I didn't see many other options mentioned, so hopefully we are on the right path.

I was just looking at Summit Racing for aftermarket alternatives and Aeromotive is definitely one of the brands to look at if I go that direction.
