For reference:

I used these generators for at least 15 years of my Army career. There is trailer mounted versions as well. Never had too many issues with them as long as the fuel filters were changed and they had a load on them. They are considered "tactical quiet generators" but to me they where never really that quiet. The 802 is 5k and the 803 should be 10k. I have Googled the tech manuals in the past and they can be found, not sure it that helps.

This whole thing started out with me looking for a decent generator to run shop equipment during power outages or take with me to a friend's property that is off-grid. Nothing too serious, more of a mental exercise than anything. But as I researched commercial diesel units, it became obvious that the TQG's had some advantages over the COTS units. Things like split-phase and 3-phase operation, the ability to adjust voltage and frequency and the ability to parallel units. Plus, while not silent, their enclosures are much more rugged. Right now, I'm just dorking-out doing research, but the smaller MEP units look like fun if one comes up on auction for a decent price.

I just wanted to around the cabinet and see how serviceable their are and hear one running. 70db is loud, but it beats the 80-85db of a POS Home Depot genny.
