Bonded or Rebuilder's Title
Ended up getting offered a '67 Mercury M-100 truck this week and I know they are pretty uncommon. Turns out the guy has no title so I would be left to do a bonded title or rebuilder's title. I have a couple ways to check and see if the VIN is in the system but I am a bit skeptical. Has anyone done a bonded or rebuilder's title? How much of a PITA is it?

I have a feeling this is the process Zac had started with the Baja and things went south quick.

Re: Bonded or Rebuilder's Title
I got a bonded/rebuilder title for the 39 Plymouth. Basically, I arranged to have a State Trooper do a VIN inspection on the car. I showed him all the paperwork I had on the car, asked couple questions, filled out some paper work, etc. I posted a bond for 2x the value of the vehicle, I think it cost me $100. It was pretty easy, really. Zac was going through the process, and at the VIN inspection, they realized it was a stolen vehicle. Starting his saga. You can search, I think I've posted links to the DMV paperwork/process somewhere in the forum. I'll try to look and see if I can find it, but it will be a while.
