Post Volunteers
Quick post to follow up on the December breakfast thread (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9348). After some offers and a little more discussion, there's enough interest to warrant some behind-the-scenes planning space. The goal is to have at least 2 regular events per year. Quarterly plus an extra summer wheeling trip or two would be epic. We've got a few people who have offered to plan events, but wanted to be transparent and put out some additional feelers. We could use a couple more people, since many hands makes for lighter work. Here's the setup:

-You need to be willing to meet in person. The down side is that planning can be time consuming. The upside is that the meetings may involve beer.
-The club does not have significant money and does not want to deal with money. Money=drama. Past planners have either footed the bill or taken donations at the event. We can look at other ways to fund stuff, but reluctance to handle money will be an ongoing reality.
-Plan to be relatively selfless and willing to have grace in the face of annoyingness. Clubs are awesome but involve people. People are sometimes bad at expressing gratitude and can be a massive PITA. The payoff is getting to help create even more awesome.
-The positions will be moderated. It's normal for things like this to take more time and energy than anticipated, and for lives to change. If you can't give as much as you'd hoped your work is appreciated, as is your making room for someone else.
-Currently the only set plan is for this group to take over the breakfast schedule and the Platte event. I'll continue to be involved as an admin and handler of some of the behind the scenes stuff. We'd love to see a Memorial day event to launch wheeling season but that's not set in stone. Beyond that the starting point will be a bunch of brainstorming.
-We'll be creating a forum with limited access to keep planning tidy. It's not a control thing, pies just get messy when there's a whole bunch of fingers in them. If you're willing to work to build CCB there's a pretty good chance you'll get access.

We are also looking for a tech volunteer. We need to fix the Photobucket thing, update the backend of the site (phpBB) and add a feature or two. The admins are very cool, but are not computer people.
KISS will continue to be the primary design principle.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we can chat.

Sounds good Justin. I'll still help any way I can.
