Anyone know of reputable shooting ranges around the Springs? I know Dragonmans and I go out there occasionally, but $8 per person per trip gets expensive real fast. I'd like to find a range with a reasonably priced family membership nearby. I've heard of a place out by Falcon, but haven't been able to find it. |

Whistling Pines might be what you are thinking of. But if you think $8 a pop for Dragonman's is a bit rough, you're definitely not interested in WP. It's pretty much the Broadmoor of shooting ranges around here. I usually suck up the Dragonman fee. I used to take the wife up to Rampart to shoot, but that got old quickly. I don't like to have to keep a loaded piece on me at all times WHILE AT THE RANGE. There are some very sketchy people who would frequent that area before they closed it. |

The Forest Service closed Rampart's shooting range anyway. A couple of idiots went up and one shot the other accidentally. |

You have to go across the river now. Signs all over the place on the Rampart side that tell you not to shhot except hunting birds and mamals. We went up yesterday to plink and play, had a blast though since Hayman there are darn few trails to play on anymore. |

I am thinking about shooting at Silver Bullet Range tomorrow afternoon if anyone is up for it. I have the entire week off so if you want to shoot, wheel, or wrench get in touch! Billie |

Around Phoenix we had many shooting ranges with very reasonable fees. I used to shoot in Mesa at a range that backed up to decent sized mountain. It cost $75 a year for a family membership which gave me a key to the gate so I could shoot any daylight hours. Dragonman's has burms with houses 1/4 mile away. It scares me to death shooting there. |
