Last April I took a motorcycle ride through Texas. It was such a great ride, that I want to do it again, but just do the best part, the Texas Hill Country. I recently sold my big V-Twin (Honda VTX-1300R) and bought a Goldwing GL1800. My son has a Harley Sportster and would like to come too, but it had a broken exhaust stud. We got a quote from the dealership to fix it for $300 (cough, choke). Instead, I helped him pull the head off of the cylinder and took it down to a machine shop to pull the stud. It only cost $10. Here's some pics of the job so far. I'll post the ride report here as I go. Using my motorcycle trailer as a work stand A table full of removed parts and tools Cylinder without its head |

The current plan is: Apr 8 - Meet in San Angelo and stay the night with family. Apr 9 - Ride from San Angelo to Rocksprings, then ride the Twisted Sisters, ending up in Kerrville for the night. - http://goo.gl/maps/QPFWi Apr 10 - Ride North East of Kerville and I-10 (haven't decided which roads yet), winding up in North San Antonio for a night with my brother. Apr 11 - Ride wherever we feel like but winding up back in San Angelo. Apr 12 - Head home. I have GOT to remember on April 9 to stop by BC Broncos on my way to Kerrville. I guess I pass a couple hundreds yards from the store. Anyone else ever stop by? Is there anything to see? |

That sounds like a great ride. I've heard that's some pretty country. |
