Not much to say, but it is bad ass. Daily updates on NBC Sports, its worth watching if you haven't before. I've been watching for a few years now. They had to move the event to South America due to Al Qaida threats to the racers when it was in northern Africa. |

Rally is the bomb. Easily some of the most skilled drivers in the world. |

I know very little about the Dakar, but from what I have seen, it looks awesome and how many classes? You have everything for dirt bikes to semi trucks! Sweet! http://www.dakar.com/dakar/2013/us/stag ... alery.html Click on the 1234... at the top for each stage of video coverage. I wish it was covered more like the Baja or even the KOH. WRC will be racing in my area later this summer. I will be there! |

I'd love to see a WRC race, those guys are awesome racers too. I used to watch WRC, but I don't think its been on in the US for a few years. Speed used to cover it, but stopped. OT, but speaking of Europe, I have 2 goals if I ever get back to Europe. First, I want to see an F1 race, probably Spa in Belgium. I also want to take a Porsche around the old 14 mile Nuremburgring (sp?). I think you can still pay to make a lap there. |

Chad - checked into it...: http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/beginners.php From what I remember reading a while ago is that there are certain co's that will rent you a racer, but most will specifically ask if you're headed to the ring. If so, no go on the rental. I want to go watch for a day or so and see how it all works. It's only about 1.5 hrs from here! |

I've been to an F1 race at the track in Budapest. Not that interesting. Cool cars, but that racing action isn't nearly as interesting as rally. I'm glad I did it once. The Ring, however, is very high on my bucket list. I don't care if I have to ride a bicycle around it, I want to do a hot lap at least once in my life. |

Thanks for the info on the ring. I won't mention it to the rental car company. I grew up watching CART @ Mid Ohio, and I admit, watching racing (especially in person) is an "acquired" taste. I love it. I got to watch the Denver CHAMPCAR races near the Pepsi Center from a penthouse apartment, for all but one year. That was a dream come true. I've attended an American LeMans race @ Miller Motorsport Park near SLC. I got to ride in a Rousch Mustang for a pace lap of that track (used a bunch of credit card "miles" for that), pretty sweet too. So Spa is my next "bucket list" race, even going to the race in Austin will suffice for a while, maybe next year. A rally race would be another cool experience. Anything but an oval race, I'll go. |

Even the little oval at Beacon Hill just north of Pueblo is pretty cool. |

I bet an oval race is better in person than TV. I just never got into ovals. |

I'm not into oval racing, but watching the short track in Dacono was pretty cool. Went a couple of times when I lived up there. Closest thing I've ever seen to Roman chariot races, and about as safe. Figure 8 school buses were entertaining, too. |
