I began experiencing some issues with my 7.3L PSD a couple of days ago. My little Camry I use for running parts and going to work in was damaged by hail on the 6th and then I was rear ended coming home from work on the 12th. While it's in the shop I am driving my F250. I was on my way to work when the check engine light came on and it beagn to run ruff. Turned around and started to head home. About two block from the house when the light went off and began to run fine, I turned back around and drove to work with no further problems. I get off of work and a repeat of the issue. I get home and read the codes to find P0603 and P01316 (The Keep alive Module and Injector error), I pour a can of Sea Foam in the tank and drive it around.

Day two, I fire up the beast and the check engine light comes on immediately. I drive to work and the light flickers but never really goes off and the same from the return home. I get home and put the stock program in with no change.

A little WWW research reveals that the 7.3L PSD has an inherent problem with the under the valve cover injector harnesses connectors separating due to heat and warpage. Ford makes a "clip kit" to fix the problem. P/N 2C3Z-14A163-AB. It costs about $12.00. I'm picking mine up this afternoon and will let you know how diffcult it is to install.

Mike if you need help I have done this to mine. And the fix is only 50 cents. Look it up on the www. 50cent mod. Saves you 11.50. Make sure your engine is clean. Everyone says the drivers side is the hardest but I found the passenger side to be worse to pull the valve cover. For the driver rear bolt I had to use a 1/4" drive ratchet with a flex handle and a short 2-3" extension and a swivel on it too. Just take your time and don't drop anything.

same here. just went through this, although with the mileage I have I figured a minimal investment for a new cover gasket would be worth it. The new ones are fixed of the old problem, better clip I guess.

If you need a hand let me know as I am around the corner and have done it.
I have heard good results with the $.50 fix too.

watch the youtube video on repairing harness with a quarter , but it doesn't work on all 7.3 model only certain years .

Before you buy the harness, pull the valve cover and check connections. The under valve cover harness can become unplugged. Very common, as it has happended to mine twice now. Pull the cover, plug it in and problem was solved.
