Thoughts and prayers
Watching the fire coverage on tv right now, this is an amazing event in our state. Really makes one realize what is really important. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by these fires.
I know there are several members here who live in the area that is being evacuated in the springs. I hope that all are safe.

Re: Thoughts and prayers
It is tragic. Let's hope lives are preserved. I know Zach and his family is safe and out of their home.

Re: Thoughts and prayers
I'm not being affected by fires now, but keeping a close tab on things. We had some fires very close to town in 2002. I remember the first time I saw a giant wall of black smoke rising from the hills close to Gunnison, it is a sight/feeling I have never had before. Later that summer we had fire so close to town, you could see flames. Although my town, and home never were threatened, the feeling of dread was very real.
My friend called me from Boulder last night and she and her family evacuated their home very near the Flatirons. I'm counting myself and the residents around the Gunnison Valley as very lucky, and I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for everyone in the Southwest. We had a small downpour yesterday, and I've never been so glad to see some rain. I just stood out in the rain for 10 minutes.
My best thoughts and wishes go out to everyone being affected by this.
