I just picked up a set of these aluminum valve covers and am wondering if I could paint or powder coat the top of them in between the polished ribs (in the grooves if you will). Obviously want to do it once and for it to be really durable. wadda-ya-thank ? |

I would powdercoat them. A good place is my buddy Lee at pristine powder coating. http://www.pristinepc.com/ |

I would leave them as-is. Doesn't get any getter than shiny covers to dress up the engine. Plus, it will look amazing with your killer air cleaner too. I have the black & polished version on my EB, but prefer the polished version you have. COngrats on a cool purchase. The seller may want to post up some info on these covers - I am sure other guys will want them too. |

Jeff - have you made a decision on the valve covers? Have you thought about Black Chrome? Very cool new look in Hot Rods right now. Saw the guy on TRUCKS! do the DupliColor 2 stage spray over the weekend and turned out coooool. |

That DupliColor 2 stage black chrome looks pretty good. We did my dads vents on his 06 mustang with it. Gotta be a real good painter with a can for that stuff tho otherwise it doesn't look right. |

Are you saying you cannot believe everything you see on TV? That is nice to know, from first-hand experience, the DupliColor Black Chrome product works. |

I would leave them as-is. They are gorgeous! |

So essentially, everything that is black on those valve covers would be blue then? If so, I love it! |

And if that color comes close to matching the original Ford blue valve covers...oh so sweet. |

Jeff, do those covers have baffles under the PCV and filler holes? I've thought about getting new covers, but so many are made without baffles. |

Clay, yes......they do have baffles. With respect to paint scheme.........I was thinking of only painting the top but leaving the sides polished aluminum. The top of the fins and the wording would also be unpainted. So essentially, just painting down inside the grooves is what I was thinking. I am game for OLD FORD BLUE or the paint Dan has if it is close enough to the body color. I will bring em to the T4T event so we can agonize over it together. |
