Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on how I might clean this up a bit? Trying to adapt stock early bronco steering wheel to ‘79 tilt column. Do I just need to buy an adapter kit for a 78 to 91 Ford? (that’s how they are listed on eBay and other sites) Or is it gonna be more difficult than that? |

That’s tricky, you may also have to trim some of the shroud back on the column to get the trim ring in there. |

Ok, well after I totally dismantled, dismembered, and disfigured the rubber plastic from the ‘79 steering wheel trying to make the little ring on the very very bottom adapt to the stock steering wheel, I ended up going to Hobby lobby... yeah yuck it up, I went to Hobby lobby and I got some 1/8th inch black foam, some heavy duty double sided tape, and some black vinyl. I ended up using a cut off wheel and cut the very bottom of the metal neck off of the original steering wheel and used it as a spacer and cam canceler and then I used the foam to step up from the smaller diameter to larger and then I covered the foam with black vinyl. For the amount of time I spent on this piece of crap, that’s all I will notice but some of you other guys might not notice it at all!!! Lol!!! |
