Changed the oil, bled the brakes; need to adjust the timing again, and carb.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
A few days ago I bought this:
IMG951865.jpg
I know the owner and a year or two ago asked him to keep me in mind if he sold it. Pretty well built, when I looked at it, I realized its almost exactly what I'd do to a little camper to make it Colorado friendly.

Nice score Chad! Ours was a rockwood as well, but a little larger. I never got around to lifting ours, but had plans to!
Carry lots of spare screws and bolts with you. They fall out continuously!

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I scored another garage goodie today. They were throwing it away at work. I had to pick it up. Dual pump. Each pump runs 24cfm at 125psi. This sucker will move some air!!! Im pulling the pumps and adapting them to my upright tank.

Nice Rob! That lower tank would make a heck of a BBQ grill or fire pit!

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
each pump works great!!! the reason for getting rid of it, it was not big enough. It had a bad motor on it but I couldnt use those anyways as they are 3ph 480v. quick search i found 240v 3hp motors for 350 each. so if it comes down to it 700 bucks will get this compressor running the way it is.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I was wondering if you had 3 phase at your house. That would rock.
Regardless, that is a great score.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Chad I wish I had 3ph power at home or even a shop. But even at that 1 of the 3ph motors are bad and a replacement for it was 800 bucks.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Got some new heater hoses and installed them so I can enjoy the heater again.
I had it by-passed since spring when I replaced the leaking heater core.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I've been working hard on my home, and have reached a point where I can give my Bronco a little attention. I'm waiting on my new gas tank, so I've spent the last two days getting my garage cleaned up, and my 5.9L Dodge engine, trans & tcase broken down and ready for storage.
The garage is getting more and more work friendly. Its been more of a storage for building materials than a working garage.
Today, I finished swapping my shackle bushings out of my rear springs. Honestly, there wasn't much left of the old ones. I let that go a little too long.
Also I installed my Wildhorses Silverback flares. I'll have to relocate my fuel filler/cap locations, but while the tank is out, seemed like the time to do it.
Sorry the truck won't run without a gas tank, so the only pics are still inside my garage.
Looks like plenty of room to jump to 35's or 37's next. Also won't cover ALL my windows with mud.

Function before fashion. I don't "love" the look, but I "love" seeing out my windows when I drive down muddy roads.

Those suckers are high on the belt line, I can't wait to get a closer look at them as I may need a set for my new axle setup.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I pushed them up high. I started in the front, and they fit the best with the top near the beltline. You could have pushed it around, and probably trimmed off the bottom and kept them lower. I haven't actually cut any metal, I don't need more clearance yet. But there is a lot that can be trimmed now, actually the inner fenders (front & rear) will be the next interference point. The bottom edge of the flare is now about even with the fender, where it was cut for the original old school flares.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I know I'll have some cutting to do if I get to jump to 37's, so I'll be seeking advice from guys who have massaged the inner fenders. I'm afraid it'll involve some sheetmetal work tho.
Also, curious to see what you do with your filler neck. Mine may need moved too!
Glad you're back on this and can't wait for that new tank to arrive!

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Stumbled on a person wanting to trade a Hobart 400 plasma cutter for a small welder. A month or so a go, I made a nice deal on a Lincoln 135 welder & small Miller plasma cutter. So, today I traded my old Hobart 130 welder & some cash for the Hobart plasma cutter. Its a lot bigger than the Miller, rated to cut 3/8"-5/8".
Now to sell the Miller plasma, and then the Lincoln welder, and upgrade to a 210 amp welder.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Got a bunch of little things done today. Started by running bolts through the new flares, behind the front tires where the body brace bolts to the rocker. Had to make a quick new one for the driver side, it broke when the bolt wouldn't release from the j-nut.
Then I started working on the fuel fillers that were covered by the Silverback flares I installed last week.
I was test fitting the rear filler tube, trying to figure where it would fit, I heard something rattling around inside. I always wondered why I had to fill my tank slowly. It was the center of a locking gas cap someone had obviously lost the key to, looks like they punched it into the filler neck, figuring it would just fall into the tank. Nope. P1010918.JPG
I found a good location for the rear filler neck, but it required cutting out some of the inner fender.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I also cut about 1" out of the rear filler neck to bring it up flush to the bottom of the floor. I'm going to wait till the new tank is here to weld it back together. P1010927.JPG
Made up a dog house, the metal is thin 26 ga, but its all I had around. I'm going to seam seal & undercoat it tomorrow, then pop rivet it into place. P1010929.JPG
Then I reinstalled the aux neck and used the stock location, barely. I had to grind down the flare a little, and take a little off the gas cap too, but it works. P1010921.JPG P1010922.JPG
I also got my pump mounted that will transfer gas from the aux tank to the main tank. Need to wire it up, and make the final fuel line connections once the new tank arrives.
