Eyebrows for Stubby
Check out what we found for the stub today! Went down and picked it up this morning. It’s going to require a little love before it goes on but it will be nice to have the correct grill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Eyebrows for Stubby
Nice find! Overall good condition. Looks like original paint. There is difference where the color/white breaks compared to the later grills.

Re: Eyebrows for Stubby
I was a little worried about it so tried to go down and get it on Saturday night. The seller wanted to wait till morning so we got up at the butt crack of dawn and made the 97 mile trip down. Strangely, I don’t think he had any other calls on it. I bet if it had “eyebrow grill” in the title his phone would have been ringing non stop. I’m just glad to have the last major piece of the 66 puzzle. A set of 66 caps would be cool but I would be too chicken crap to drive around with them on!

Re: Eyebrows for Stubby
Check out Kirk's poverty caps. 52/53 Merc hub caps. I paid about $75 for a set of 4.

Re: Eyebrows for Stubby
Just for my education, the "Eyebrow" grills are those that have the raised ridge [O##O] outboard of the headlights?
Either way, cool to see OE stuff going back on!

Re: Eyebrows for Stubby
I could be wrong but I think these are what he’s talking about ...
Top 2 hubcaps in 1st 2 pics are OEM Ford.
The rest of these are all Merck hubcaps, the front has been painted with black stripes and cut for the front hub. The way you tell is the clips on the back. Ford only has three and then a space three and then a space mercury ones have clips all the way around...
Someone on eBay trying to fake the fronts for $100 each, or $150 for 2... Better than a Grand I guess!
(I just read the guys add...He represents them as "clones")

Re: Eyebrows for Stubby
After acquiring my long sought after eyebrow grill, I had to figure out how to make this original red paint grill look like it belonged on my mostly blue with rusty patina bronco. I didn’t want to loose the patina of the grill either so I broke out a few cans of spray paint, some sand paper and some brake cleaner. A short time later it looked like it had been on the bronco for years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Eyebrows for Stubby
That looks AWESOME!!!
What about a 3.5” solid round cylinder in a 20 ton press...squash that little merc Head flat then put on the F O R D in the middles? LOL... playing devils advocate! I’ve seen on the Broncitis (?) site where he sells the hubcap stripes and FORD lettering....
