Deciding on another project
As the title says I am deciding on another project. I got the wife's blessing to go ahead with another project as long as I start learning some fab and welding, and it has to stay at the shop for the time being. That being said I am torn between two projects and looking for some input, I have access to both at this point. Choice 1: The Couronco, its an old 1976 Ford Courier converted to 4x4 with CJ parts. My plan would be a full Bronco drive train- 289/NP435/D20, EB D44 and 9" with 33's. https://photos.app.goo.gl/EwoKgbXpiVSkLNJm1Choice 2: Full on Bronco Buggy, D60, undecided rear, 406 FE motor, C6, Atlas, 40's, Longer wheel base I have had the wheeling itch lately so leaning toward the buggy because I don't want to take my Bronco through trails like Carnage and Penrose

Re: Deciding on another project
These challenges are what make it an interesting project. Go with the buggy

Re: Deciding on another project
Fort Collins guy does not have a 4x4 C6. Appreciate the help looking. Most likely going to go ahead with the buggy, just got to make a plan and start shopping.

Re: Deciding on another project
I'd be inclined to do a 408 or 351 over the FE block for weight reasons anyway.

Re: Deciding on another project
Buggy sounds like a cool project. I'd give the FE my vote for the low end grunt. Are you thinking about going with the Atlas on this one or a 205 doubler ? I'll ask around about a C6 with a couple of people I know. Mark.

Re: Deciding on another project
I think both projects would be cool. The buggy's purpose is obvious, but the courier would be intended to do what? Build to sell?
As to rear axles, the cheapest is likely a 14b, but you'd want to shave it (make it a 13b). Or I think a custom ford 9" housing with 35splines would be just as strong, but save weight and clearance. Plus it still has some Ford flavor. It'll just be a bit more expensive.
