Cool stuff!! There was a guy in the LEBC club who turbo's his inline 6. That was 2008ish - but I might be able to track him down if you wanted to talk to him. I know that is different than a SC, but both setups are forced induction so there might be something to learn from someone who's BTDT.

Here are a few challenges with the 250 vs the 200.

First off, it’s bigger about 1.5 inches taller and an inch wider this will cause it to sit higher using the 200 motor mounts and likely create hood clearance issues

Next, it uses the small block bell housing with the low starter. This one is a blessing and a curse. The fit will be tighter but a 4R70 or an AOD are transmission options not possible with the smaller bell.

It was also never available in a rear sump / oil pickup configuration and the front sump pan is not conducive to the needed front diff clearance.

The plan is to make sure we address the fit before sending the block to the machine shop.

The first order of business is the oil pan situation........

Ford never made a pan for this so we have to do it ourselves. The 200 pan is too narrow so some cut and paste is needed. Really, the only thing the 200 and 250 pans have in common is the length. The solution is to mate the bottom of the Bronco 200 pan with the pan rail from the 250. a little plasma cutter, a lot of heat and hammering and a ton of grinding along with some serious tack welds has the project of to good start. Just read the build thread for the first time, very cool motor build and the oil pan turn out really nice ! thumbs up
So can you lower the motor mounts or is a hood scoop needed, it sure would be a sleeper under the stock hood.

Serpentine belt setup is slowly coming along for project “way more work than expected 250 swap” We started with a 250 V belt bracket. The balancer is from a ford 300, water pump pulley from an early 80’s 5.0 car, 3/4 ton van alternator, Phil’s modified power steering pump with a Hellcat pulley and tensioner from an F150. It’s starting to come together and should look like it could have been a factory setup once it’s done. Getting everything lined up is a serious challenge. Everything has been welded, cut off and welded again multiple times to get it all straight. ImageImage

What's that old Johnny Cash song about bringing Caddy parts home in his lunch box???

But hey, if it works then I think it's awesome!

After over a year of waiting, the vintage inlines aluminum head is here. Planning to start with a carb while the EFI details get worked out. Looking for an autolite 2100 from an auto trans vehicle if anyone has one collecting dust that they want to part with. Image

Excited to see it run, I’ve seen those heads advertised, glad you finally have it on the motor.
